50 Villages and 16 Billion Liters of Water

Here is a quick overview of my short visit to Jalna last weekend, for the JalTara water project. Our goal is to dig 25,000 recharge pits across 50 villages before the monsoons – one in each acre of land. This will enable us to store an estimated 16 billion liters of water annually – while preventing the flood/drought cycle that spoils crops and washes away valuable top soil.
