The machines are coming, the machines are coming!
Am excited to share that after 4 months of intense prep work, the #JalTara project has finally started digging the recharge pits in villages.
The first batch of 9 backhoes are on the ground – more are arriving each day. This year we hope to complete over 30 thousand recharge pits and help solve the water crisis in 60 villages – by adding an extra 18 billion liters (~10 thousand acre feet) of groundwater every year.
We only have about 70-75 days to dig all these tens of thousands of pits before the monsoons arrive – so full speed ahead!
